Way to go Lower Blue River Valley protection advocates! Last week DRMS reclassified Peak's application to mine our valley as "Complex" because 150 of you asked to have a voice. This means that another 60 days will be added to the permitting process timeline, which will put any public hearing into 2021. Your passion worked. Here is the letter to Peak.
In addition, Colorado Parks & Wildlife weighed in with a fairly strong letter to DRMS about the inadequacy of Peak's considerations in their permit application of the Lower Blue River ecosystem, its wildlife and fishery. Read it HERE. This is what you are protecting:
The next step is your testimony at the hearing in 2021. Lower Blue Residents United will keep you posted on when, where, and how. For now, congratulations on making a difference! And thanks to those of you who gave tax deductible contributions to us in the past month. We will spend this money effectively. Keep it coming HERE and get a tax break in 2020.
